experience: |
Since 1979 he has been with UTIA CAV, first in the Department of Optimal
Control, now in the Department of Decision Making Theory. His main
research interests include theory of optimization, in particular optimal control,
duality theory, convex and nonsmooth analysis and numerical optimization
methods. From the long-term visits abroad most important were those in
USSR (Computing Center of the Academy), France (INRIA, CEREMADE,
and the universities in Clermond-Ferrand, Montpellier, Nice, Pau and
Limoges) and Germany (Bayreuth University, Humboldt University Berlin, FS
University Jena, FA University Erlangen-Nuremberg and Weierstrass Institut
in Berlin).
From 1991 to 1994 he has been on leave with the Mathematical Institute of the Bayreuth University, participating at the project of the German Scientific Foundation (DFG) "Applied Optimization and Control". Concerning his pedagogical experience, he has tought externally Nonsmooth Optimization at the Mathematical Faculty of the Charles University, Convex and Nonsmooth Analysis at the University of Bayreuth and Analysis at the FA University Erlangen-Nuremberg. He is member of the Advisory Board of the journal Nonsmooth Analysis and Optimization, Associate Editor of Kybernetika and member of the IFIP TC7 Committee. |
