The Institute of Information Theory and Automation (Czech Academy of Sciences), in cooperation with the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University offers a:
PhD position Duality Techniques in Interacting Particle Systems
The vacancy has been filled
- For a period of 4 years.
- Preferred starting date September 1, 2020 or according to agreement.
- Salary 39.000 CZK (compare the living costs in Prague).
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Jan Swart. The subject of the PhD project will be decided together with the student and will be chosen from a list of concrete problems in probability theory, centered around duality and intertwining techniques for interacting particle systems.
Applicants should have a sound training in probability theory (including stochastic processes and measure theory). Knowledge of functional analysis and statistical physics is a plus.
